Birkhimers note 50th date

JOHNSTOWN — Mr. and Mrs. Ron Birkhimer of Johnstown have noted their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house at Joey Del’s Catering.

Mr. Birkhimer and the former Mary Louise Martin were married Sept. 1, 1962, in New Florence, by the Rev. R. Armstrong.

Mr. Birkhimer was born Nov. 4, 1937, in Johnstown, son of Mr. and Mrs. E.R. Birkhimer.

Mrs. Birkhimer was born July 12, 1936, in New Florence, daughter of Reigh and Ruth Martin.

Mr. Birkhimer retired from Thackray Supply Inc., Johnstown.

Mrs. Birkhimer is a graduate of Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed at Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital.

The Birkhimers are the parents of three children: Paul, and wife, Suzanne, West Lafayette, Ind.; Karen, wife of John Slenska, Pittsburgh; and Karl, Johnstown.

There are four grandchildren: Hannah and Tara Slenska and Nick and Jack Birkhimer.
