Burkholders observe 65th date

JOHNSTOWN — Mr. and Mrs. Bob Burkholder of Johnstown have observed their 65th wedding anniversary with a dinner hosted by Steve and Janet Finch at Eat’n Park Restaurant, Lower Yoder Township. It was attended by nieces and nephews from Pennsylvania, Ohio and Virginia.

Mr. Burkholder and the former Hazel Parke were married Sept. 13, 1947, at Zion Lutheran Church by the Rev. Theodore Buch.

Mr. Burkholder is a retired fleet supervisor from Verizon.

Mrs. Burkholder is a retired clerk from Pennsylvania Department of Revenue.

She served on the Johnstown School Board, District United Methodist Women

and the Pennsylvania Business and Professional Women’s Club.

The Burkholders are active in the Pennsylvania Lions Club, where Mr. Burkholder served at the Lorain-Moxham Club and as Pennsylvania state counselor.

They are active members of First United Methodist Church.
