A man has implicated himself in the death of 6-year-old Etan Patz, whose disappearance 33 years ago on his way to school helped launch a missing children’s movement that put kids’ faces on milk cartons, police said Thursday.

JOHNSTOWN — Mr. and Mrs. Robert A. Miles of Johnstown will note their 63rd wedding anniversary with a dinner at Surf & Turf Inn, Johnstown.

Mr. Miles and the former Ellen Barbara Mills were married Feb. 4, 1949, at Overbrook Evangelical United Brethren Church, Southmont, by the Rev. Earl Ormston.

Mr. Miles was born Sept. 2, 1929, in Prospect, son of William E. and Anna (Hohman) Miles.

Mrs. Miles was born Aug. 18, 1932, in Johnstown, daughter of George E. and Maude (Rohrer) Mills.

Mr. Miles retired after 34 years’ service from Bethlehem Steel Corp.

He served tours of duty in the Army from 1946-1948 and 1950-1952.

They are the parents of five children.

There are 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

219 Southbound closed due to traffic accident
Due to a traffic accident, Cambria Township emergency officials report that Route 219 southbound lanes are congested just south of Ebensburg. Two people were transported from the scene. Southbound drivers looking to avoid the traffic stop should exit 219 at Route 22.

According to officials, 219 southbound lanes should be clear soon.
