Cables observe 60th anniversary

UPDATE - Decades-old mystery may be solved

A man has implicated himself in the death of 6-year-old Etan Patz, whose disappearance 33 years ago on his way to school helped launch a missing children’s movement that put kids’ faces on milk cartons, police said Thursday.

JOHNSTOWN — Mr. and Mrs. James A. Cable of Davidsville have observed their 60th wedding anniversary with a family dinner in Carlisle.

Mr. Cable and the former Lois Harshberger were married Dec. 22, 1951, at Stahl Mennonite Church, Johnstown.

Mr. Cable is the son of the late James S. and Mary (Yoder) Cable.

Mrs. Cable is the daughter of the late Erwin and Trella Harshberger.

Mr. Cable is retired from Sani-Dairy Co. and McIlwain School Bus Lines.

Mrs. Cable is a retired homemaker.

The Cables are members of Kauffman Mennonite Church.

The Cables are the parents of four children: Susan, wife of Marvin Yoder, Broadway, Va.; Debra, wife of Wendell Histand, Perkasie, Pa.; Greg, married to the former Carole Golden, Davids-ville; and Mark, married to the former Wendy Miller, Johnstown.

There are 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

219 Southbound closed due to traffic accident
Due to a traffic accident, Cambria Township emergency officials report that Route 219 southbound lanes are congested just south of Ebensburg. Two people were transported from the scene. Southbound drivers looking to avoid the traffic stop should exit 219 at Route 22.

According to officials, 219 southbound lanes should be clear soon.
