Poloyacs celebrate golden date


Mr. and Mrs. John Poloyac of Johnstown have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a dinner and a reception hosted by their children and grandchildren at Eques Ultra Lounge, Richland Township.

Mr. Poloyac and the former Agnes Poborsky were married Sept. 12, 1959, at St. Petka Serbian Orthodox Church.

Mr. Poloyac is a 1955 graduate of Franklin High School and a 1959 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in mechanical engineering.

He retired after 35 years’ service from Johnstown Plant, Bethlehem Steel Corp., as a supervisor, and worked for 11 years at Johnstown America.

He enjoys golfing, fishing and hunting.

Mrs. Poloyac is a 1955 graduate of Franklin High School.

She enjoys gardening.

The Poloyacs enjoy attending sporting events.

They are the parents of five children: Denise Poloyac, Chicago, Ill.; Karen Arcurio, Johnstown; Helen, wife of Rick Lee, Johnstown; John, and wife, Darla, Johnstown; and Sam, and wife, Kris, Pittsburgh.

There are six grandchildren: Johnny, Alyssa and Mitchell Poloyac of Johnstown; Katelyn and Michael Arcurio of Johnstown; and Sam Poloyac of Pittsburgh.
