Longs note 70th date


Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Long of Johnstown have noted their 70th wedding anniversary.

Mr. Long and the former Leona Fae Humbert were married Oct. 21, 1939, at Faith United Methodist Church, Johnstown.

Mr. Long was born Nov. 1, 1918, in Beaver Valley, son of the late Norman and Emma Long.

Mrs. Long was born April 24, 1917, in Somerset, daughter of the late Edward E. and Agnes E. Humbert.

Mr. Long retired after more than 40 years’ service from the forge shop of the Freight Car Division, Johnstown Plant, Bethlehem Steel Corp.

Mrs. Long retired after more than 26 years’ service from K. Artley Dress Factory as a seamstress.

The Longs are the parents of a daughter, H. Patricia, wife of William Kemp, York.

There are four grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and many great-great-grandchildren.
