Mutos celebrate 69th anniversary

JOHNSTOWN — Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Muto of Johnstown have celebrated their 69th wedding aniversary with a celebration dinner at City View Restaurant, top of Inclined Plane.

Mr. Muto and the former Mary Agnes Halach were married Aug. 22, 1943, at SS. Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church in the Woodvale section of Johnstown.

Mr. Muto was born Jan. 25, 1919, in Johnstown, son of the late Michael and Josephine Muto.

Mrs. Muto was born June 11, 1924, in Johnstown, daughter of the late August and Pauline Halach.

Mr. Muto retired in 1977 after 33 years’ service in the Gautier Mill, Bethlehem Steel Corp.

He is a World War II veteran, having served in the Army for four years.

He enjoys walking daily and working in his yard and garden.

Mrs. Muto is a former employee of BiLo supermarket.

She enjoys cooking and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The Mutos are members of St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, Woodvale.

They are the parents of two children: Michael A. Muto, and wife, Joyce, Johnstown; and Tonette, wife of Dominick Furfari, Johnstown.

There are seven grandchildren: Marc A. Muto, and wife, Kristi; Dena, wife of Todd Vore; Anthony Muto; Tammy, wife of Eston Mayberry; Stefanie, wife of Matt Whiteside; Travis Burns and wife, Sara Beth; and Frank Burns.

There are 12 grandchildren: Summer Vore, Shea Vore, Lacey Vore, Mason Muto, Madox Muto, Kelsie Muto, Aiden Burns, Addison Burns, Will and Emmi Mayberry and Connor and Cannon Burns.
