Mr. and Mrs. Gerald C. Hoffman of Windber have noted their 50th wedding anniversary with a dinner/dance hosted by their children and spouses at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church, Windber.
Mr. Hoffman and the former Donna R. Dunmire were married Oct. 5, 1962, in Winchester, Va., by the Rev. Andes.
Mr. Hoffman was born Jan. 31, 1942, in Windber, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Hoffman.
Mrs. Hoffman was born July 4, 1943, in Windber, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Dunmire.
Mr. Hoffman worked as a plaster contractor for more than 40 years with his father. He is an Army veteran.
He was a member of the Windber School Board for eight years, Masons for more than 40 years and Emmanuel Men’s Chorus.
He is a 1959 graduate of Windber Area High School.
Mr. Hoffman coached Little League for 10 years and was a PIAA baseball and basketball official for 15 years.
He enjoys golfing and fishing with his friends and loves spending time with his family.
Mrs. Hoffman worked at First Commonwealth Bank for more than 20 years. She is a 1961 graduate of Windber Area High School and attended McMurray College in Abilene, Texas.
She loves spending time with her children and grandchildren, and enjoys crocheting and kniting for her family and working in her yard.
The Hoffmans are members of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Richland Township.
They are the parents of four children: Todd, married to the former Elizabeth Callahan, Hagerstown, Md.; Dana, wife of Kelly Risch, Strongsville, Ohio; Laura, wife of Jon Embler, West Palm Beach, Fla.; and Kristi, wife of Brian Madey, Tryon, N.C.
There are 11 grandchildren: Kayla, Jared and Zachary Risch, Emily and Cara Hoffman, Jessica and Ryan Condon, Jonathan and Joenid Embler and Jason and Nikki Embler.
There are five great-grandchildren: Grace, Laurie, Sadie, KC and Oden.
