Ragers observe 60th dat

JOHNSTOWN — Mr. and Mrs. Laird Rager of Mineral Point have observed their 60th wedding anniversary with a family dinner hosted by their children at Homestead Inn.

Mr. Rager and the former Doris Jean Easterbrook were married Nov. 9, 1952, at Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren, Johnstown, by the Rev. William Gould.

Mr. Rager is a farmer and a retired truck driver from Ward Trucking, Altoona.

He is an Army veteran having served during World War II and Korean Conflict.

He serves on the Jackson Township Planning Commission and enjoys hunting.

Mrs. Rager serves on the board at Cambria City Mission and is a volunteer and member of the auxiliary at Church of the Brethren Home, Scalp Level.

She enjoys knitting, quilting and reading.

The Ragers are members of the Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren, where Mrs. Rager is a member of the women’s fellowship.

They enjoy gardening and spending time with their family.

The Ragers are the parents of five children: B. Keith, and wife, Claudia, Mineral Point; Randy, and wife, Debora, Mineral Point; Martin, and wife, Wendy, State College; Pamela, wife of Robert Piper, Mineral Point; and Shelly, wife of Robert Craft, Mineral Point.

There are 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
