BREAKING: 4 people are dead, 3 state trooper injured in Blair County shootings.

UNIONTOWN — Four people were killed and a three state troopers were hurt in an incident in Blair County this morning.

One state police trooper was shot in the chest, with his injuries minimized by his bullet proof vest.

At a noon press conference Blair County District Attorney Richard  Consiglio said four people - one woman and three men, including the shooter - are dead, a result of the incident in a rural area near Geeseytown, east of Hollidaysburg.

A second police officer was believed to have been injured by flying glass at the scene while a third trooper was injured in a crash while in route to the scene, sources said.

There are indications that the suspect may be dead, but no further information is available. The troopers are believed to have survived.

The Blair County Emergency Management Agency described the situation as under control. However, much of the area around the incidents has been closed to public traffic pending further investigation, Consiglio said.

He did not provide names of the victims or the shooter and offered no motive.
