As we near the most important election of our time, it is essential that those who are truly concerned with the direction of this country consider what is at stake.
The very first reflection when voting should be for the right to life – the very first right endowed by our creator and written in the Declaration of Independence, and which trumps all other rights, natural or manufactured by government.
President Obama wants to permit partial-birth abortions, and does not want his daughters “punished” with a baby.
He is intent on appointing justices who will uphold the so-called right to barbarically dismember and murder unborn children.
In addition, the integrated “complete lives system” in Obamacare grants treatment to those deemed to contribute to society. This maximizes care at age 20, and diminishes thereafter, dropping sharply after age 55.
He also has hinted that the elderly forgo medical procedures for palliative care. This would ultimately end with rationing, an intrinsic and malevolent part of socialized medicine, as evidenced in Britain and other regions.
He has denied Christians their inherent right to freely practice their religion, and to do so according to their conscience.
While most see birth control as innocent, the fact is that hormonal contraceptives do cause chemical abortions as one line of effect.
In order to secure our life and liberty, Obama must be removed from office in November. Our country and its citizens cannot survive him having full reign without the need to downplay his beliefs for re-election.

It’s not hard to see our nation is broke
When are you bleeding-heart liberals going to open your eyes, use the brain that God gave you and realize this country is broke?
Being open-minded – knowing this is difficult for you Democrats to comprehend – I know both parties are responsible for the problems we face.
Congress owes the Social Security Trust Fund $3 trillion because it couldn’t keep its corrupt hands off of it. But we kept re-electing the politicians that caused it.
Call Congressman Mark Critz’s office and ask him when it’s going to be repaid.
Fifty years ago, 6 percent of the country depended on the federal government. Today, it’s 36 percent, and 48 percent don’t even pay federal income taxes but collect a check from the taxpayers.
Some $3 billion is spent on illegal immigrants each year and the Democrats want to open the flood gates of our borders because the illegals vote for the Santa Claus party.
That’s why John Murtha’s bronze statue with his hand out fits the persona of the local Democrats today – what’s in it for me?
So keep your hands out and we will fill it.

Forum article drew anonymous rebuking
This letter is in response to my Readers’ Forum article on Aug. 10, “Society has become too tolerant of wrongdoing.”
An individual found my method of delivery on gay lifestyles too insensitive and sent me a five-page, anonymous letter in the mail, which is exactly what I expected. So I will address this person’s concerns.
No, I’m not a self-appointed prophet, I don’t observe Old Testament Jewish law, and I’m not a person who thinks that I am above reproach or beyond God’s chastening.
I am a whole-hearted believer that God will be true to his word, as it is said in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10: “Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.”
My affirming that God’s word is true doesn’t make me self-righteous; it means God is righteous and just and will do what he has said with the unrepentant. Would it be better to give people the impression that human sympathy will change that?
Perhaps we should be more careful not to “Palm ourselves off as angels of light” by soft-soaping disobedience. Remember how the devil deceived Eve with the words, “Surely you will not die.”
“Don’t quench the Spirit” (1 Thessalonians 5:19) and don’t despise him when he says, in effect, “Don’t be blind on this point anymore.”

On Nov. 7, will it be capitalism or socialism?
On Nov. 7, are we going to be the United States of America or the People’s Republic of America? Will it be Mitt Romney for capitalism or President Obama with socialism in Washington, D.C.?
The writings are on the wall. America doesn’t have faith in paper money. Gold and silver are what Americans are buying. Obama is overspending and making money worthless.
Obama believes spending money can get us out of this depression. The stimulus and bailouts have bankrupted this once-proud country and we are in grave danger.
We should look at Gov. Tom Corbett, who has gotten a good start in Pennsylvania by keeping us living within our means. Gov. Rendell was another Obama – taxing and spending. Democrats today are called the tax-and-spend party.
Obama has to learn that you don’t kill the goose that lays the golden eggs. You have to look at China, once a poor nation. China gives priority to its businesses, even though it’s a communist nation.
Obama is going the wrong way with socialism: Overtaxing the rich and downgrading our capitalist form of government that our great forefathers gave us.
Russia under Joseph Stalin killed the powerful peasants, the kulaks, and made Russia a people’s republic. It didn’t last long.
Obama believes in taxing the rich to death to pay off all the debts he has given us.
We will see China, in time, get rid of communism and be like America.
They are smarter than the liberals who want to change America to socialism.

How is tax break for a few going to help?
I don’t understand how giving 1 percent of Americans a tax break will help the
99 other percent.
