Readers' Forum | Let's make sure Obama is one-term president

I would like to highlight a few talking points that the president adheres to.

When President Obama says “we’re in this together,” to me he means the IRS and your bank account.

When Obama says “we need to pay our fair share,” he’s not talking just about the super rich paying higher taxes, “We” is “us” –  all of us. You might hear the old mantra of “tolerance” from the leftovers.

What this group wants you to tolerate is its “big government is best” socialist philosophy, and if you don’t subscribe, then you’re a bigot, racist or kook who needs to be  brainwashed into its beliefs.

All this is coming from an administration that has run up a $5 trillion deficit in barely four years. How tolerant are you now?

This president is a joke, but nobody is laughing with 10 million people unemployed, millions more underemployed, food and gas prices rising by the day, cities and towns spending our tax dollars like their big brother government in Washington, D.C., and going fiscally broke.

Obama says we need another four years of this style of reckless leadership.

Apparently 48 percent of this country cannot or refuses to comprehend this dire situation. Are you one of them?

Check out CFIF.org for insight.

The president also said if his administration couldn’t improve this economy in three years, which I believe he’s made worse, then he would be a one-term president. Let’s make sure that happens Nov. 6.

On a slippery path to eternal peril

Gasoline at $4 per gallon and unemployment over 8 percent for 43 straight months – there was a time when these would be major factors in a presidential campaign. But nowadays, we have more important priorities like free contraception and the right for gay persons to marry each other.

While these distractions that the Obama campaign pushes out as major issues are trumped up by their media accomplices, our country continues along a slippery path on the edge of a gorge of eternal peril.

Congress is back in session, and it’s time for action to reduce the massive debt burden that may soon lead to another downgrade of the U.S. credit rating and another recession – or worse.

Unfortunately, Congress, including the Democrat-controlled Senate that has not passed a budget for over 31⁄2 years, will be posturing for the election and neither party will have time to take action to alleviate our fiscal woes.

Democratic leaders, however, will have time to continue making false accusations that Republicans want to do whatever they can to harm the poor, the old, women and all minorities.

This administration of failed promises, such as cutting the deficit in half and uniting the country, can only make more empty promises of what it will do if given four more years.

President Obama and his accessory, the invisible but complicit Bob Casey, must both be defeated in November for this country to have any chance of survival as the shining beacon of the world.

Entire Paint Twp. board should resign

Paint Township is broke. No surprise to me, because of the inefficient manner in which business is conducted. The entire board should resign.

The residents had a sewer project rammed down their throats, costing thousands of dollars per household. They also do not listen to resident complaints.

Example: When this sewer project started, after every storm, debris and mud washed into my driveway. I complained.

The answer, “If you keep bothering us, we’ll file harassment charges against you.”

That’s how this board operates. No concern for the residents. Cutting costs and layoffs should begin immediately. Then, the board members should resign. We need a change.

Praying for America’s survival

When President Obama was elected, some people who didn’t vote for him prayed he would fail. Protests began within weeks. When the people speak with their votes, we should respect the office enough to give the president time to organize his staff and agenda before complaining that the country is not yet fixed.

If Mitt Romney is elected, I will have a different prayer than abject failure:

-- Please prove me wrong that the new health-care law will be dismantled, thus effectively discarding the health needs of 30 million people.

-- Please prove me wrong that a Romney administration will take us into another war in the Middle East.

-- Please prove me wrong about the environment, as the billionaires who bought the election start calling in their favors. Please show me that clean air and water regulations won’t be returned to the 1950s or for new toxic dumps and cancers to develop.

-- Please prove me wrong that the conservative administration will deny all the science of global climate change and refuse to make the tough energy decisions. (See previous statement re: Billionaires)

-- Please prove me wrong that income disparity will increase. When this happens, fewer people can get ahead, despair ensues and violent crime increases.

An imbalance between rich and poor is the oldest and most fatal ailment of all republics. (Plutarch, Greek historian/ philosopher)

Please, God, help me feel like I’m still living in the USA instead of the “Individual States of the Plutocracy of America.”

Amen.
