Four more years of President Obama and four more years of whining by Republicans, especially in this Readers’ Forum.
This time, the president got a lot of help from GOP members.
Mitch McConnell, Senate Republican leader, said on national TV earlier this year that their No. 1 priority was to limit Obama to one term. Didn’t it ever cross his mind that Americans would rather he had said his No. 1 priority was the economy and jobs?
Fox News contributor Ann Coulter said about 6 months ago that if New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie did not run for president, Mitt Romney would be the nominee and the Republicans would lose. Fox News contributor Laura Ingraham, an occasional substitute for Bill O’Reilly, said if Romney did not defeat Obama it was time to shut down the Republican Party and start with all new people.
They should take her advice, because there is no light at the end of the tunnel for the Republican Party. If Hillary Clinton decides to run for president in 2016, they could kiss the White House good-bye again.
Right-winger Ted Nugent said he would leave the country if Obama wins. I hope he is a man of his word.
People have decided they want more gov’t
Nov. 6, 2012, will go down in history as the day freedom died in America. With the re-election of President Obama, his power will know no bounds. He now can rule by executive order. In the past 40 months, he has issued 923 such orders.
Just to offer two examples: No. 10995 allows the seizure and control of all communication media and No. 10997 allows the government to take control of all electrical power, gas, petroleum, fuels and minerals.
What does he need Congress for?
The next highest number of executive orders was issued by George Bush II and that was 62 in eight years.
The American people have spoken and they have surrendered their freedom to the government, and in return the government will provide for them. Or will it?
What about the rest of us who still cherish freedom and conservative values? We will either knuckle under or be plowed under. As long as the government can take from a few to give to the majority, the majority will never vote to cut their benefits, hence a dictatorship is being established.
We have about 43 czars, and who do they answer to? Certainly not Congress or the American people. They answer directly to the president.
