Readers' Forum 10-9 | Same politicians, same poor results

— As another important election ap-proaches, I would like to remind everyone about the automatic pay raises our legislators keep receiving, while the rest of us suffer in this poor economy.

These career politicians are out of touch with the people whom they are supposed to serve, or else they really do not care.

We need men and women with a vision of the future, who have the courage and integrity to implement new ideas and programs to make our lives better.

We need people of principle, not those looking for personal gain.

We cannot keep electing the same people and expect different results.

The time is now to send a message that we are fed up with business as usual in Harrisburg and Washington.

Let’s oust every incumbent up for re-election, regardless of party affiliation. We just can’t keep complaining and do nothing.

Career politicians are the reason our government is broken. It is time to put a stop to it. It is up to us to try and save our democracy.

Vote on Nov. 6.

T-D forum writers educating voters

I thank the following people of Greater Johnstown for speaking out: Bernie Bolha, Aileen Ropp, Frank Springs Jr., Pearl Long, Susan Miller-Lovette, Sam Contakos, Ed McGarvey and Ron Marol.

I’ve read their recent letters to The Tribune-Democrat and hope others have, too, and have become informed of the seriousness of the Obama administration’s mandates.

Imposing regulations on our manufacturing, banking, educational, agricultural, energy, international and other agencies are harming our people.

Please continue educating your friends, neighbors and family on the real issues threatening our liberty and freedoms. But know, too, that you will be criticized for speaking out.

Finally, don’t forget the families of Greater Johnstown who are unemployed, whose homes are “under water” or in foreclosure, or the miners unemployed because of Obama’s “war on coal.”

Also, don’t forget President Obama’s insulting and assaulting you “...people of Pennsylvania clinging to your guns and religions ...” when he was campaigning in 2007-08. Do you remember?

If not, please do and vote in November for freedom and liberty from a second Obama and czar-led (30-plus of them) administration.
