I agree that it takes a low person to shoot an innocent cat. Anyone who knows me is aware that I don’t like cats – at all – but would not intentionally harm one.
Trouble’s five kittens are now without a mother, and that neighborhood now has five more cats that will be roaming.
Although I choose to not have a pet, I am “blessed” with the smell of them on my porch and in my yard because a neighbor’s cat spends more time in my yard than its own.
Between it and several neighborhood strays that keep coming to visit it (in my yard), the lovely smell of cat pee permeates the yard. Of course, since one of those poor strays was hit by a car recently while trying to cross the street, I guess there will be one less furry visitor.
That was a needless death that could possibly have been prevented if only the cat’s owner had kept it in his or her home and didn’t allow it to roam the neighborhood.
If people would get their pets spayed or neutered, perhaps this would cut down on the amount of strays that are struck down by a car or a coward with a gun.
Although I love most animals, if I don’t have a pet of my own, I certainly don’t want to take care of yours.

No guarantees that rink will be rebuilt
When it comes to moving the hockey rink from Roxbury Park to the Hornerstown section of Johnstown, I am all for the idea. However there are few questions that need to be answered.
I know Tim Burns (Roxbury Bandshell Preservation Alliance solicitor) had said a separate fund would be established to pay for the move. Is this before or after the rink is demolished? If it is after, what guarantee is there that the proper amount of funding will be raised?
How long until the rink will be rebuilt? Will it be rebuilt? Or will it be simply a scenario where it is out of the way of the bandshell and, sorry, hockey players, we could not get the funding for this kind of issue?
What is the estimated cost to move the rink to Hornerstown?
I hope the rink will be rebuilt and both parties will be content, but I honestly doubt this rink will be rebuilt.
I hope Burns proves me wrong. Even if he doesn’t, at least he got what he wanted.
