“Twilight” the movie, based upon the book by Stephenie Meyer, was a huge hit with movie-goers. Yes, my wife dragged me to it. And yes, I really enjoyed the show.
Now “Twilight” fans are about to burst at the seams in anticipation of the movie premiere showing of “New Moon,” from Meyer’s second book. This premiere will happen locally at midnight on Nov. 19 at the Richland Cinemas.
I stopped by to see Ed Troll, owner of the Cinemas, to talk about the “New Moon” premiere. He predicted tickets for the initial showing would sell out in about 20 minutes flat.
He also said that just about every day, someone stops in and begs to buy tickets in advance, not wanting to miss out.
Ed said the tickets will go on sale only on the day of the premiere. The movie officially hits theaters on Nov 20.
I asked Ed, just as a wild thought, if The Tribune-Democrat could buy the entire theater for the midnight showing and host the premiere.
His reply: “Are you trying to get me killed? Fans would lynch me if I did that. No way, no how.”
I said, “OK, Ed, I realize buying the midnight premiere showing is out of the question.”
But I asked, what about an earlier showing, say 7 p.m.?
Ed leaned back in his chair and said, “Why not? It would be a blast!”

Second: Calling all Edwards, Bellas and Jacobs, etc., we will hold a “New Moon” character look-a-like contest, online, and five lucky finalists will be invited (with one guest) to attend the premiere. Before the show, the audience will vote the best look-a-like and that winner will receive a $100 gift card to Boscov’s.
Third: We want to find the biggest “Twilight” fan, and five finalists will be chosen to attend (with one guest). The winner will be revealed before the show and also will receive a $100 gift card to Boscov’s.
So join me for the 7 p.m. premiere of “New Moon.” This will be a night to remember, as we catch up with Bella recovering from her vampire attack at the end of “Twilight.”
