Whitney Houston, who reigned as pop music's queen until her majestic voice and regal image were ravaged by drug use, erratic behavior and a tumultuous marriage to singer Bobby Brown, has died. She was 48.

Robert Jr. and Vicki Snoby and Richard and Janet Pleskovic, all of Johnstown, have announced the engagement of their children, Amy Leeann Snoby and David Richard Pleskovic.

Miss Snoby is a 1997 graduate of Ferndale Area High School and a 2001 graduate of Cambria-Rowe Business College, where she received an associate’s degree in specialized business.

She is attending Mount Aloysius College, Cresson, where she is pursuing a degree in medical imaging.

She is employed by Big Dogz Grill as a server.

Mr. Pleskovic is a 1996 graduate of Greater Johnstown High School.

He is employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a mail handler.

A May 2011 wedding is planned in Johnstown.
