Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Barber of Beckley, W.Va., have announced the engagement of their daughter, Jennifer Christine, of Morgantown, W.Va., to J. Douglas Minchau of Pittsburgh, son of Dr. and Mrs. Gary Minchau of Johnstown.
Miss Barber is a 1996 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and a 2000 graduate of West Virginia University, where she received a bachelor's degree in business management with a concentration in information systems.
In 2004, she earned a master's degree in business adminstration from West Virginia University.
She is employed by Global Science and Technology Inc., Fairmont, W.Va., as a software-test engineer.
Mr. Minchau is a 1995 graduate of Westmont Hilltop High School and a 2000 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, where he received a bachelor's degree in finance.
In 2005, he earned a master's degree in safety management from West Virginia University.
He is employed by Liberty Mutual in Pittsburgh as a loss-control consultant.
A May wedding is planned in Beckley.
