Bruce and Andrea Altemus of Johnstown have announced the engagement of their daughter, Sara B. of Pittsburgh, to J.D. Waechter, son of Daniel and Darcy Waechter of Pittsburgh.
Miss Altemus is a 2001 graduate of Greater Johnstown High School and a 2006 graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where she received a bachelor’s degree in social studies education.
In 2008, she earned a master’s degree in history from IUP.
She is a teacher at City High Charter School, Pittsburgh.
Mr. Waechter is a 2003 graduate of North Hills High School and a 2008 graduate of IUP, where he received a bachelor’s degree in exercise science.
He is pursuing a master’s degree in exercise physiology at the University of Pittsburgh.
An April wedding is planned in Pittsburgh.
