JOHNSTOWN —
J. William and Diane Riner and Paul and Mindy Leonard, all of Johnstown,
have announced the engagement of their children, Lauren Riner and Benjanim Leonard.
Lauren is a 2006 graduate of Bishop McCort High School and a 2010 graduate of Penn State, where she received a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering and a minor in six sigma.
She is an industrial engineer employed by the Depart-
ment of Homeland Security in the Acquisition Professional Career Program in Washington, D.C.
Ben is a 2006 graduate of Shade High School, Cairnbrook, and a 2010 graduate of Susquehanna University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in finance and a minor in information systems. Ben played baseball at Susquehanna and participated in the Reserve Officer Training Corps program.
Upon graduation and commissioning as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army,
he attended the Armor Basic Officer Leadership course and the Army Reconnaissance course at Fort Knox, Ky.
He is a first lieutenant stationed at Fort Carson, Colo., as a company executive officer in Charlie Company, 1-8 Infantry, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division. He returned from Afghanistan in December 2012, where he was deployed as a military adviser on a Security Force Assistance Team.
An August wedding is planned at St. Clement Roman Catholic Church,
Johnstown.
