Ligonier Highland Games will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and Saturday at Idlewild Park, Route 30, Ligonier.
The games will feature bagpiping, fiddling, drumming, Highland and Scottish dancing and athletic events.
There will be musicians from around the world, and vendors will display Celtic wares.
Admission is $18 for adults, $15 for seniors and $8 for children ages 12 and younger.
Parking will be free.
The 101st annual Stahlstown Flax Scutching Festival will be held Saturday and Sunday along Route 711 near Stahlstown.
There will be demonstrations of the complete process of making linen from the flax plant.
There also will be homemade food, crafts, antique farm equipment, live music, a Civil War encampment, a covered wagon encampment and a staged Indian raid.
On Sunday, an outdoor worship service will begin at 9 a.m., followed by a praise group and gospel music from noon to 5.
Admission, which includes all demonstrations, displays, events and concerts, is $4 per person.
The 57th Farmers and Threshermens Jubilee will continue through Sunday in New Centerville, nine miles south of Somerset on Route 281.
More than 20 antique steam-powered tractors and steam engines will be fired up to parade daily.
An auction of the 23rd anniversary quilt will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday.
The jubilee is sponsored by and for the benefit of New Centerville and Rural Volunteer Fire Company.
Admission is $4 for adults.
Children younger than 12 will be admitted free.
The 40th annual Mountain Craft Days will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today through Sunday at Somerset Historical Center, 10649 Somerset Pike, Route 985, Somerset.
More than 125 craft artisans, musicians and entertainers will interpret the rich frontier heritage of southwestern Pennsylvania at more than 100 booths and a dozen outdoor performance sites on the grounds.
Free on-site parking will be available today, weather permitting.
A shuttle bus will transport visitors free of charge from designated parking areas Saturday and Sunday.
Admission is $7 for adults and $4 for children ages 6-17. Children younger than 5 will be admitted free.
Altoona First Festival will be held from noon to 8 p.m. today, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at Lakemont Park, Altoona.
There will be arts and crafts vendors and ethnic food.
Entertainment will feature live music, free monster truck rides, a children’s show and strolling entertainers.
A $5 admission fee includes an all-day ride pass.
Triple play(s)
“Theatre Matters: An Evening with the Women of Samuel Beckett” will be staged at 8:30 tonight and Saturday at Satori Gallery, 155 Village St. in the Moxham section of Johnstown.
The three short plays, “Not I,” “Come and Go” and “Rockaby,” will be presented by (un)apologetic productions, a community-based theater organization in the Johnstown area.
The plays feature all-female casts and will be followed by a discussion with Joshua Hoover, the theater group’s artistic director; Randy Jeffreys, director of “Not I” and “Come and Go”; and Scott Jeffreys, director of “Rockaby.”
Tickets are $10 and may be purchased in cash only at the door.

Revved-up Rumbles
Windber Rumbles, formerly Windber Dog Run, will rev up at 1 p.m. Saturday on Graham Avenue, Windber.
Registration will be held from 6 to 11 tonight and 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the Windber Community Building, 1605 Graham Ave.
There will be food, refreshments, vendors and official Windber Rumbles apparel available.
The cost is $20 per person, and the driver and passenger must be present to preregister.
Proceeds will benefit Windber charities.
An adult party will begin after the run at 6 p.m. at Windber Recreation Park.
Music will be provided by Ole 97, The Characters, Split Image, Paint Creek Pickers, Southern Steel and Better Dayz.

The 118th Cambria County Fair will wind down today and Saturday in Ebensburg.

Chamber Music Series of Greater Johnstown will open its season with Brazilian jazz singer Kenia at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, 309 Lincoln St., Johnstown.
A preconcert begins at 7.

“A Laugh & a Drink in Support of the Pink,” featuring comedienne “Just Dana,” will be held Saturday at Ebensburg Country Club, 408 Manor Drive, Ebensburg.
Doors will open at 7 p.m., with the show beginning at 8.
A donation of $15 includes the show and a pink drink.
Proceeds will benefit the Sisters & Friends Connected for a Cure Team for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.

All things afield at annual sportsmen's show
Folks who crave the great outdoors will have the chance to get a jump on their adventures by attending the 27th annual Allegheny Sport, Travel and Outdoor Show at the Monroeville Convention Center.
