The 39th annual Somerset Antique Show will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday on the streets of Uptown Somerset.
More than 100 dealers will feature items such as furniture, china, glassware, jewelry, trunks and old books, paperwork and maps.
Admission is free.
Food vendors and nonprofit organizations will offer hamburgers, hot dogs, hot sausage, baked goods and beverages for purchase.
An antique and classic car show will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Somerset Trust Co. lot, 151 W. Main St.

Family celebration
Heritage Days Festival will be held Saturday and Sunday at Shade-Central City Community Park.
There will be live music, ethnic foods, games, crafts, a kids corner, car show, basketball and volleyball tournaments, a 2K race and fireworks.
Music this year will include the ’50s and ’60s sounds of the Sharptones at 2:30 p.m. Saturday and the rock ’n’ roll of The Boomers at 7 p.m. Saturday.
Admission is free.
Community festival
Portage Area Summerfest will be held today through Sunday at Crichton-McCormick Park and other sites around Portage.
There will be live music, craft and food booths, children’s activities, dancing and fireworks.
The Conniptions will perform at 5:30 p.m. Sunday.

Flying high
The Wings of Freedom Tour will fly into the area Monday through Wednesday at the John Murtha Cambria County Airport, Richland Township.
Viewing hours are 2 to 5:30 p.m. Monday, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday.
The living history event will feature a North American P-51 Mustang, a Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress and a Consolidated B-24 Liberator.
Walk-through tours are $12 for adults and $6 for children ages 12 and younger.
For those who want to take to the skies, 30-minute flight experiences on the B-17 and B-24 are $425 per person.
Half-hour and full-hour flights also are available on the P-51, which has dual controls.

Fierce farce
The madcap farce “Lend Me a Tenor” will play through Aug. 16 at Mountain Playhouse, Jennerstown.
The play revolves around a famed opera singer and includes a series of double entendres, plot twists, quick exits and innuendoes.
Curtain times are 8 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays, 2 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays and 3 p.m. Sundays.
Tickets are $15 to $28 for matinee performances and $20 to $32 for evening shows.

Masterful art
“Harriett Goff: Master Teacher and Artist,” a one-woman show of the 102-year-old artist’s work, will be on display Sunday through Sept 9 at Bottle Works Ethnic Arts Center, 411 Third Ave. in the Cambria City section of Johnstown.
The exhibit will include more than 50 pieces of Goff’s artwork, which have been gathered from many homes, churches, museums, libraries and private collections.
An opening reception will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, and Goff will attend if she is able.

Spinning a tale
The classic story of E.B. White’s “Charlotte’s Web” will be presented at 7 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at Arcadia Theater, 1418 Graham Ave., Windber.
The play will be presented by the Arcadian Players, a group of children who attended a two-week theater camp directed by Aspen Mock.
Every child between the ages of 6 and 18 who auditioned received a place in the theater camp, which also included acting workshops.

Jazzy day
A Nonprofit Day at the Carnival will be held from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday on Village Street between Grove and Park avenues in the Moxham section of Johnstown.
The Second Sunday event, which will include an outdoor jazz festival, is sponsored by Village Row Shoppes.
Featured performers will be the Frank Filia Quartet, Jazz in Your Face Octet and the Hammond Brothers Trio from State College.
Village Street Cafe will provide Southern fried fish and wings with signature sauces.

Musical romance
“Annie Warbucks,” the sequel to the international smash hit “Annie,” will be on-stage through Aug. 15 at Cresson Lake Playhouse, 279 Shapiro Road, Loretto.
Daddy Warbucks must secure a bride in 60 days in order to keep the world’s favorite orphan under his roof.
Curtain times are 8 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays.
Tickets are $17 for adults and $10 for children younger than 12.

Biker benefit
Cruising for CASA, Malzi’s second annual scenic motorcycle run, will begin Saturday at the 1889 Park, St. Michael.
Registration, which will include coffee and donuts, will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Pavilion No. 5, next to the ballfield.
All proceeds will benefit the Cambria County Court Appointed Special Advocate Program.
The cost is $20 per bike and $5 per passenger.
After the run, a barbecue will be held at the pavilion.
Jazz in the park
Jazz in Your Face will perform from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday in Central Park, downtown Johnstown, as part of the Concerts in the Park series.
Music lovers should bring a blanket or lawn chair or sit on one of the park’s benches.
Rocket man
NARAM 51, the National Association of Rocketry’s 51st annual meet, will be held Saturday through Aug. 14 at 2630 Paint St., Windber.
A fly-it take-it event for first time flyers younger than 14 will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday.
Youngsters will be able to choose a model rocket, fly it on the sports range and take it home at no charge.

Benefit run
Somerset County A.B.A.T.E. (Alliance of Bikers Aimed Toward Education) is sponsoring the fifth annual Somerset County Children’s Aid Home Benefit Motorcycle Run on Sunday.
Registration will be held from 11 a.m. to 12;30 p.m. at Scooters Bar, Benscreek.
Riders will stop at Children’s Aide Home, Somerset, to visit with the children and present A.B.A.T.E.’s annual donation, then will travel through Somerset County, with stops at Mountaineer Sports Grille in Berlin, Double D’s Roadhouse Restaurant near Confluence, and Laurel Mountain Inn near Bakersville, before returning to Scooters.
Donations are $10 per person and will be accepted at any of the scheduled stops.

Bandshell blast
A double bill will continue the summer concert series Sunday at Roxbury Bandshell on Franklin Street in Johnstown.
Singer songwriter Jenny Drummey will perform her own brand of acoustic music at 5 p.m., with the Southside Strays at 6.
This concert will celebrate the 70th anniversary of the laying of the cornerstone at the bandshell.
Uplifting classes
“Up, Up and Away,” a special event class held from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday at Community Arts Center of Cambria County, 1217 Menoher Blvd., Westmont, will focus on the summer children’s film, “Up.”
Participants will learn how to draw the film’s characters, make a bird puppet, paint with balloons and create balloon animals, and build a miniature paper mache hot air balloon.
The cost is $29 for arts center members and $32 for nonmembers.

Dance rhythms
The final session of the West African dance classes taught by Becky Bickford will be held Wednesday at Bottle Works Ethnic Arts Center, 411 Third Ave. in the Cambria City section of Johnstown.
The youth class for ages 5 through 12 will be held from 6 to 7 p.m., and the adult class for ages 13 and older will be held from 7:30 to 8:30.
Live drummers will provide music for both classes.
The cost is $8 per class.
Classes will conclude with an optional performance during Cambria City Ethnic Festival.

Going green
Johnstown Civic Concert Band will perform at 7 p.m. Wednesday on the grounds of the Community Arts Center of Cambria County, 1217 Menoher Blvd., Westmont, for the final concert of the 30th annual free Concerts-on-the-Green.
Those who attend should bring a blanket or chair for seating.
Garden party
A Summer’s Garden Tea Party will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the YWCA of Greater Johnstown, 526 Somerset St. in the Kernville section of Johnstown.
The cost is $15 per person.
Reservations are necessary because seating is limited.

A used book sale to benefit the Johnstown Flood National Memorial will be held from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and noon to
5 p.m. Sunday at the 1889 Clubhouse in the National Register Historic District, St. Michael.
The sale is sponsored by the Friends of Johnstown Flood National Memorial.

Serbians will celebrate their heritage with festival
Combine heavenly food, lively music, dancing and family fun and you have the recipe for a good time. Organizers of the Serbian Festival are using those ingredients to entice visitors to join them on Sunday to share in their heritage. The festivities run from noon to 8 p.m. as the Bottle Works Ethnic Arts Center in conjunction with St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church host the event on the church grounds, St. Clair Road in Westmont Borough.
