In conjunction with the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, a blessing of animals will be held at 10 a.m. today at the grotto outside of St. Therese Roman Catholic Church, 536 Decker Ave., Johnstown.
Roxbury church lists Sunday events
The Rev. Brian N. Simmons, pastor of Roxbury Church of the Brethren, 112 Sell St., Johnstown, will speak during the 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship service.
His sermon, “Receiving Jesus’ Invitation to His Table,” is based on Mark 10:13-16.
The Cathedral Choir will sing “Here I Am Lord,” under the direction of Melanie Shiley, accompanied by Laura Krouse, pianist.
A love feast and Communion service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Sunday.
Laura Krouse will serve as pianist.
Provisions have been made for those unable to kneel for the feet-washing service.
Sunday school will begin at 9:30 a.m. A Bible study will be held at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday.
Abundant Life to note Lord’s Supper
The Lord’s Supper will be observed during the 11 a.m. Sunday worship service at Abundant Life Ministry, 1067 Menoher Blvd., Johns-town.
Evangelist Naomi McNair will be the gospel messenger.

Church to celebrate Men’s Day on Sunday
Christ Centered Community Church, 531 Somerset St., Johnstown, will celebrate its first Men’s Day at 4 p.m. Sunday.
The Rev. Henry Hansard of Mount Zion Baptist Church, Altoona, and the male chorus, will be the guests.
Minister to officiate during pet blessing
Calvary United Methodist Church, 159 Chandler Ave. in the West End section of Johns-town, will hold a pet blessing at 4 p.m. Sunday in the church parking lot.
The Rev. Donald Brauer will officiate.

Arbutus sets love feast, Communion
Arbutus Church of the Brethren, Erickson Drive and Hostetler Road, Johnstown, will hold a love feast and Communion service at 6 p.m. Sunday.
Light House to host family skate night
Light House Morning Star Ministries, Cherry Tree, will sponsor a family skate from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Indiana Roller Skating Rink.
The event will have a Christian atmosphere with Christian music and fellowship.
Cost is $3 and includes skates.

Los Angeles minister to speak in Moxham
Moxham Church of the Brethren, 536 Grove Ave., Johnstown, will host the Rev. Gilbert Romero at its “Break” ministry at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Romero, of Los Angeles, will share contemporary Christian songs and a message of faith.

Auxiliary staging murder-mystery dinner
Would-be detectives will have an opportunity to solve a murder while enjoying a sumptuous buffet. All things afield at annual sportsmen's show
Folks who crave the great outdoors will have the chance to get a jump on their adventures by attending the 27th annual Allegheny Sport, Travel and Outdoor Show at the Monroeville Convention Center. The show, which runs from Feb. 15-19, is the only western Pennsylvania show dedicated to hunting, fishing and camping.
