Light House Morning Star Ministries, Route 240, Cherry Tree, will sponsor a weekend In-Gathering today and Sunday with John and Rebecca Polis of Fairmont, W.Va.
The program will begin at 10 a.m. today with praise and worship and two sessions of Bible teaching.
John Polis will lead the men, and Rebecca Polis, the women.
A luncheon will be served at noon in the fellowship hall, Starford, Indiana County.
A Holy Ghost rally will begin at 7.
Rebecca Polis will speak during the 10 a.m. Sunday worship service.

UM churches to hold Hanging of the Greens
Bright Hope Parish will celebrate the beginning of Advent with Hanging of the Greens following the worship service on Sunday at Strongstown United Methodist Church, 14745 Route 422 Highway East.
Soup and sandwiches will be served.
Hanging of the Greens will be celebrated during worship at 9 a.m. Nov. 29 at Mount Union United Methodist Church, Alverda Road, and at 9:30 a.m. Nov. 29 at Nanty Glo United Methodist Church, 998 Lloyd St.
Roxbury St. Paul’s noting Thanksgiving
Roxbury St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 160 Derby St., Johnstown, will celebrate Thanksgiving on Sunday with worship services at 8 and 10:30 a.m. and a community service at 7:30 p.m.
Thanksgiving cantata at Nanty Glo UM
The choir of Nanty Glo United Methodist Church, 998 Lloyd St., will present a Thanksgiving cantata during the 9:30 a.m. Sunday worship service.

Character re-enactment at Scalp Level UM
Luella Krieger will portray a character of the Bible during the 9:30 a.m. Sunday worship service at Scalp Level Trinity United Methodist Church, 751 Horn Road, Windber.
Walnut Grove planning Thanksgiving tea
Walnut Grove Church of the Brethren, 1068 Bedford St., Johnstown, will celebrate autumn with a Thanksgiving tea following the 10 a.m. Sunday worship service.
The tea will feature a sermon by the Rev. Ron Barto, pastor, titled “How Can I Say Thanks?” based on Psalms 116, a children’s story and a choral anthem, “A Thanksgiving Prayer.”
Speaker to address Park Ave. worshippers
Park Avenue United Methodist Church, 700 Park Ave. in the Moxham section of Johnstown, will hold a Thank Offering Worship Service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.
Lois Smith, director of the Cambria City Mission, will speak.
Pastor to present Chalk Talk Drawing
Chalk Talk Drawing by Pastor Geno Bartoletti will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday during the worship service at First Baptist Church, Second Street, Nanty Glo.
Refreshments will follow.
Youth, grades 6-12, will meet at 6 p.m. Sunday for fellowship, games and snacks.
UM church members to pack shoe boxes
Bright Hope Parish of the United Methodist Church will join Belsano (Red Brick) Church at 3 p.m. Sunday to pack shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child in conjunction with Samaritan Purse, a Franklin Graham Ministry.
A covered-dish meal will follow at 5:30.
Lutherans to celebrate heritage
The Lutheran congregations of the Northern and Southern Somerset Conferences of the Allegheny Synod will gather at 3 p.m. Sunday at Friedens Lutheran Fellowship Hall for an informal worship and table communion.
The celebration, titled “It’s (Still) Good To Be the Church,” will feature testimonies by area Lutheran laypeople and clergy affirming the characteristics of Lutheran Christianity they most appreciated.
Clergy choir will sing Martin Luther’s hymn based on the Nicene Creed.
The Rev. Walter Startzel and the Rev. John Harmon, deans of the two conferences, will preside at the Lord’s table.
New Day hosting Giving Thanks dinner
New Day Inc. will host its annual Giving Thanks dinner at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the following locations:

Ebensburg church sets Thanksgiving service
First Christian Church, 405 W. High St., Ebensburg, will host a community Thanksgiving service at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
The service will feature a children’s choir, made up of children in the community; various pastors of surrounding churches providing prayer and interesting insights; and the Rev. Clayton Harriger, pastor of Gipsy Christian Church, delivering the message of Thanksgiving.
A free-will offering will be accepted and donated to Ebensburg Area Support Ministry to provide relief to needy individuals and families.
Parking will be available behind the old elementary school.
Bright Hope noting Thanksgiving
Bright Hope Parish of the United Methodist Church – made up of Belsano, Belsano Faith, Nanty Glo, Strongstown and Mount Union – will celebrate a Thanksgiving Eve service at 7 at Belsano (Red Brick) Church.
A can of food will be accepted to be donated to the Nanty Glo Food Pantry.
Way of Hope planning praise service
Way of Hope Christian Fellowship will hold a praise and thanksgiving service at 8 a.m. Thursday at the Beka House, 5977 Somerset Pike, Boswell.
Terry Gindlesperger, pastor of Nanty Glo Church of the Brethren, will speak and testimonies and praises will be held.
