WINDBER — Arcadia Theater in Windber will be alive with legendary music throughout its 2013 season.

Amy Moore, public relations director for the theater, 1418 Graham Ave., will rely on top-name musicians and true-to-life tribute acts to fill the seats in the upcoming year.

“We have a nice blend of acts playing a wide variety of music from the ’50s to the ’90s,” Moore said. “We want to evolve in order to attract a wider demographic while still providing top-notch entertainment.”

All shows have been scheduled for 7:30 p.m. instead of the theater’s customary 8 p.m. curtain time.

“We are listening to our audience, who have told us they would like to be home by 10 p.m. following our shows,” Moore said. “So we are accommodating that request.”

Ticket prices range from $24 to $42, depending on the show and seating availability.

The season kicks off Saturday with “Draw The Line … Tribute to Aerosmith.”

The show has been cultivated from the very roots that inspired and continue to drive Aerosmith. Moore said the tribute group will give people goose bumps when it performs the sounds of Aerosmith’s biggest hits.

“This group is the only tribute band endorsed by Aerosmith to perform their songs,” Moore said. “Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler even sent look-alike Neill Byrnes to his own personal vocal coach.”

On Feb. 21, area residents will have an opportunity to celebrate the Rolling Stones’ 50th anniversary in show business with a tribute to the legendary rockers.

 “Satisfaction ... The International Rolling Stones Show,” which has been in production since 2001, showcases an authentic-sounding cast decked out in its finest Stones’ costuming.

“The Rolling Stones are on their anniversary tour, and tickets are going for around $400,” Moore said.

“People can come to the Arcadia and hear some of the greatest Rolling Stones’ hits for under $30.”

“Hotel California … Tribute to The Eagles” will take the stage April 27.

Moore said the tribute band has been performing a long time and has become a favorite of Arcadia audiences.

“They duplicate the Eagles’ harmonies to perfection,” she said.

On June 14, classic rock returns to Arcadia with a performance by The Diamonds.

“This is the original group and members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame,” Moore said.

In 1957, The Diamonds released an instant million-selling hit titled “Little Darlin.’ ” The song continues to sell worldwide and has been dubbed by some as “the national anthem of rock ’n’ roll.”

To date it has sold approximately 20 million copies.

Along with “Little Darlin,’ ” the group earned two additional gold records for “Silhouettes” and “The Stroll.”

Midsummer will find one of Arcadia’s most popular shows returning – to the delight of ticket buyers.

The Bronx Wanderers are back by popular demand and will perform July 26.

“We sold out this show last year,” Moore said. “During the performance, we asked the audience if they would like to have them return, and the standing ovation made us book them that night for a return engagement this year.”

The Bronx Wanderers capture the essence of the ’50s and ’60s music as well as anyone can, Moore said.

On Aug. 24, “Beatlemania Now – The World’s Best Beatles Tribute Band” brings the allure of the Fab Four to life.

Moore called “Beatlemania Now” an amazing concert.

“They take the audience in a spectacular musical journey beginning with the Beatles’ appearance on ‘The Ed Sullivan Show,’ ” Moore said. “People will be entertained even during costume changes and intermission.”

The group performs against a backdrop of stunning images that evoke memories of one the most turbulent decades of modern times, the 1960s.

The projected collage features flashbacks ranging from space exploration and protests in the streets to the lives and deaths of Martin Luther King Jr., John F. Kennedy and Robert F. Kennedy.

“Jay Siegel’s … The Tokens,” one of America’s most famous doo-wop groups, will perform Sept. 28.

Siegel is best known for his soaring falsetto on the classic megahit, “The Lion Sleeps Tonight.”

“People often ask if he can still hit his high notes?” Moore said. “The best way to find the answer to that question is to come to the show.”

That hit song has enjoyed resurgence in multigenerational popularity thanks to its prominence in the long-running Broadway hit show, “The Lion King.”

Other major hits for The Tokens include, “He’s in Town,” “I Hear Trumpets Blow” and “Portrait of My Love.”

The Duprees, who are known for their romantic interpretations of the most beautiful love songs ever written, perform Oct. 26.

The group’s first million seller was “You Belong To Me.” That was followed by “My Own True Love,” “Gone With The Wind” and “Take Me As I Am.”

The Lettermen Christmas Show will grace the stage Dec. 18.

Moore said The Letterman are a favorite when it comes to live performances at the Arcadia.

“We are already fielding calls about this holiday performance,” she said.

The Lettermen will return with many of their Grammy Award-winning hits and holiday favorites sprinkled in.

“Tickets for all performances are on sale now. So if there is a particular show that people want to see, it might be a good idea to buy soon,” Moore said.
