No matter what people take in their coffee, anyone walking through the doors of the Café Coffee House tonight will be served a medley of musical treats.
The café is located on the second floor of the Community Arts Center of Cambria County and the music begins at 7.
Four performances will be presented during the coffeehouse, which originated at the arts center at 1217 Menoher Blvd. in Westmont.
“Variety is the key element to this program,” said Jen Harnett, coordinator of the event.
“Since the coffeehouse concerts resumed, we have not had any repeat performances by any one group. We encourage any group who wants to participate to contact the arts center.”
Tonight’s performers are Damascus Road, a bluegrass and gospel-music quartet.
Also on the bill is Rick Cosgrove, a guitar stylist and songwriter, who will perform music from his CD, “American Dreams.”
White Noise, a quartet of a cappella singers, will perform jazz and doo-wop tunes.
The casual program will be closed by Harnett and her husband, Matt, who are members of Tree, a quartet of players and singers who perform Irish folk, bluegrass and old-time music.
“We will have only two members of our group that evening because it is prom night,” said Jen Harnett, who plays fiddle in the group.
Rose Mary Hagadus, arts center executive director, said she couldn’t be more pleased with how the two coffeehouse concerts in the last four months have been accepted.
“I would encourage people to come early because we always fill the house,” Hagadus said.
“People have been responsive to the programs, which offer a nice mix of musical styles.”
Coffee and dessert will be provided and a $5 donation is requested.
