Johnstown teen a pageant participant
Ashley Heslop of Johnstown will compete in the Miss Teen Pennsylvania International pageant March 28 in Altoona.
The winner will represent the state at the Miss Teen International pageant in July in Chicago.
Johnstown graduate earns doctorate
Steven Marsh, son of Lee Marsh of Geistown Borough and Doris Layton of Johnstown, has earned a doctorate in philosophy from the Chinese Culture University in Taipei, Taiwan.
His dissertation was a comparison of Daoism and pre-Socratic thought.
He is a researcher for the Open Society Center of Taipei and a Chinese translator for media outlets in Taiwan.
Marsh is a 1980 graduate of Greater Johnstown High School, a 1984 graduate of Mount Aloysius College, Cresson, and a 1986 graduate of Slippery Rock University.
