RELIGION IN BRIEF | Mission conference today at Mount Sinai

The Rev. Julius C. Porcher Jr. will lead the second part of the annual mission conference from 10 a.m. to noon today at Mount Sinai Baptist Church, 111 Cambria St., Johnstown.
A prayer luncheon will be served at noon.
The topic of the conference is “Six Tough Questions for the Church.”
Faith Chapel sets Christmas programs
Faith Chapel youth group will present “The Unfriendly Beast” at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the church, 730 Sunberry St., Richland Township.
A Christmas cantata, “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” will be presented by the adult choir at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 20 at the church.
Memorial Baptist books The Masters
The Masters will sing the praises of the Lord during the 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship service at Memorial Baptist Church, Route 403, Dilltown.
Pastor will speak at Hollsopple church
Pastor Guy Myers will preach on “The News About Great Joy” with Scripture from Luke 2:1-11 during the 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship service at Maple Spring Church of the Brethren, 106 Spring Road, Hollsopple.
Joyful News, the children’s choir, will sing.
Nativities on display at Ebensburg church
More than 100 nativity sets from around the world will be displayed from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Holy Name Roman Catholic Church hall, 500 Julian St., Ebensburg.
Music and refreshments will also be offered.

Christ Casebeer plans hymn, music festival
An Advent and Christmas hymn and music festival will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Christ Casebeer Lutheran Church, 10377 Somerset Pike, Somerset.
A free-will offering will be collected for the Children’s Aid Home of Somerset.
First Mennonite’s services at YWCA
First Mennonite Church will hold worship services at 5 p.m. Sundays at the YWCA of Greater Johnstown, 526 Somerset St., Johnstown.

Ministerium to host Festival of Choirs
Western Cambria Ministerium will host Festival of Choirs at 6 p.m. Sunday at St. John Vianney Roman Catholic Church, 3513 William Penn Ave., Mundys Corner.

Choir will present Christmas cantata
A cantata, “I’ll Be Home for Christmas,” will be presented by the Northern Cambria Community Church Choir in a living Christmas tree format at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at North End Assembly of God, 2305 Philadelphia St., Northern Cambria.
Candlelighting service Sunday in Windber
The Compassionate Friends 13th annual worldwide candlelighting service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, 2201 Graham Ave., Windber.
The service is designed to honor the memories of all children, regardless of age, who have died.
Holy Trinity sets Communion service
Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Berlin, will hold a Communion worship service at 7 p.m. Sunday in the barn at Maust Farm, High Street, Berlin.
Igou Family will present two concerts
The Igou Family String Ensemble will present a Christmas concert at 7 p.m. Monday at St. Andrew’s Roman Catholic Church, 1621 Ferndale Ave., Johnstown, and at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Most Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, 550 Main St., South Fork.

A Blue Christmas service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church, 1101 Somerset Ave., Windber.
This will be a contemplative worship service of solace for all experiencing grief or loss.
