Rasko hits milestone
WINDBER — Jen Rasko scored a game-high 19 points, had six steals, five assists and four rebounds helping Windber to a 70-37 victory over visiting Blacklick Valley on Monday night in WestPAC action.
Rasko came into the contest needing nine points to reach the 1,000-point scoring mark and hit a 3-pointer in the first quarter to achieve the milestone.
“It’s definitely an accomplishment,” Rasko said. “I couldn’t have done it without my team. They were definitely behind me 100 percent. There was some pressure on me with the fans and my family there, but basically it was just like any other game.”
Added Windber coach Rich Price: “I’m real proud of Jen and our team. She did it in about two years because she only played 10 or 11 games last season (because of a broken wrist) and didn’t play on the varsity as a freshman.”
Sarah Berkey supplied 14 points, eight assists and four steals for the Ramblers, who also got 10 points from Rachel Lovely.
Danielle Lesso topped the Vikings with 17 points while Lauren Kasecky had 11.
