Johnstown 69, Westmont 47
Cliff Eddins scored 17 points and Mark Watson added 16 as Johnstown defeated visiting Westmont on Monday night in a Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference clash.
Richard Agurs supplied 10 points for the Trojans while John Valcheff topped the Hilltoppers with 17 points.
Richland 53, Windber 41
Four Richland players scored in double figures as the Rams defeated visiting Windber.
Dereck Malzi and Jordan Rozich each scored 13 points for the Rams, who also got 12 points from Alex Ritenour and 11 from Max Pavlovich.
Cameron Ursino topped all scorers with 17 points and Brett Lucas added 12 for the Ramblers.
Girls
Windber 74, Conemaugh Township 46
WINDBER – Jen Rasko scored a game-high 26 points and added 17 rebounds, seven steals and five assists as host Windber downed Conemaugh Township.
Rachel Lovely added 13 points for the Ramblers, who had 10 3-pointers in the game, including four by Rasko.
Julie Byer had 15 points for the Indians, who also got 13 points from Lindy Baer along with 10 points and 12 rebounds from Katie Reckner.
Westmont 73, Johnstown 29
Alyssa Yewcic scored 16 points and pulled down 12 rebounds as Westmont Hilltop used a big second-quarter surge to pull ahead of visiting Johnstown, rolling to the win.
The Hilltoppers also got 12 points from Sara Rogerson and 11 from Erin Rodgers.
Claire Svirsko topped the Trojans with 10 points.
Harmony 57, Penn Cambria 38
WESTOVER – Alyson Layo led a trio of double-digit scorers for Harmony as the Owls defeated visiting Penn Cambria.
Lindsay Neff added 13 points and Mckenzie Kruise had 11 for the host squad.
Brianna Kearney topped the Panthers with 16 points and 18 rebounds.

Bishop McCort’s girls were looking for a little payback for an earlier loss that they had suffered at Laurel Highlands Section 2 rival Richland.
It was mission accomplished for the Crimson Crushers on Friday night as McCort held off the Rams for a physical 47-43 victory. -

So did Jan Clark.
And while both former coaches are officially retired, they can still be found regularly at high school gymnasiums around the state. But they’re no longer hearing whispers or snickers about the quality of District 5 wrestlers, and it’s not because of any hearing loss. -
