GREENVILLE — Greenville collected 471 total yards of offense and 28 first downs in a 40-7 victory over visiting Chestnut Ridge on Friday.
Greenville posted advantages in rushing yards (343-89), passing yards (128-112), total yards (471-201) and first downs (28-6).
Greenville improved to 3-1 while the Lions evened their mark at 2-2.
The Trojans took an early 7-0 lead on R.J. Malson’s 1-yard run at 4:44 of the first quarter.
Ridge answered when Jase Deffibaugh and Andy Tomovich combined for a 99-yard pass play.
Tomovich’s score and his extra-point kick tied the game at 7 with 10:01 left before halftime.
But Greenville’s Dylan Zuschlag scored three more times on two runs and a pass as the Trojans, who are a member of District 10, led 26-7 at intermission.
Greenville added touchdowns by Nico Zahniser and Rich Herron’s fumble recovery in the end zone to close the scoring.
