HIGH SCHOOL BOYS

Conemaugh Valley 77

Turkeyfoot Valley 27

Jimmy Lupek scored a game-high 23 points to help lead Conemaugh Valley to its first win, crushing Turkeyfoot Valley.

Cody Kushner added

16 points and Jason Preuss provided 11 points and 14 assists for the Blue Jays, who held the Rams to single-digit scoring in all four quarters.

There were no Turkeyfoot Valley players who scored in double figures.

North Star 80

Meyersdale 32

BOSWELL - Jacob Fleegle led all scorers with 22 points as North Star belted Meyersdale.

Wade Walker added 17 points while Tony Strasiser provided 15 for the Cougars (2-1), who had 10 assists and 14 steals as a team.

Detrick Peterman topped the Red Raiders (0-3) with

13 points.

Conemaugh Twp. 55 Shanksville 31

DAVIDSVILLE – Grant Speigle had a team-high

13 points, Mike Lysic had

11 points and 10 rebounds, and Kyle Zambanini had 10 points and five assists as Conemaugh Township beat visiting Shanksville.

Carson Shaulis led Shanksville with 15 points.

Blacklick Valley 52

Shade 44

NANTY GLO - Four Blacklick Valley players scored

11 points each as the Vikings downed Shade.

Ted Worthington, Mike Stefanick, Brandon Garver and freshman Dalton Cesarz each scored 11 points with Worthington adding 11 rebounds and Cesarz grabbing 10 boards.

Nick Kephart topped Shade with 12 points while Tyler Smith had 11 and Ryan Fyock, 10.

Portage 75

Rockwood 53

PORTAGE – Andrew Maul had 17 points and 10 assists as Portage defeated Rockwood.

Ryan Scoran added 17 points, Sean Cronauer had 12 and Zak Petrunak, 11, for Portage. Nick Foreman had a game-high 21 points for Rockwood, and Andy Pletcher had 12 points.

Laurel Valley 59

Blairsville 52

NEW FLORENCE - Joey Hepner scored a game-high

26 points as host Laurel Valley opened with a victory over Blairsville.

Justin Shingler added

17 points for the Rams, who outscored the Bobcats 18-6 in the fourth quarter with Hepner providing 14 of his points in the frame.

Dylan Dando paced Blairsville with 17 points while Clarke Helm had 16 and Scott Harsh added 12.

Salisbury-Elk Lick 85

Paw Paw, W.Va. 16

SALISBURY - Alex Beiler led all scorers with 19 points and added six assists and five steals as Salisbury crushed Paw Paw.

Nick Boslet and Ryan Vogt each had 16 points for the Elks, who got 14 points and six rebounds from Scott Knopsnyder.

Ferndale 67

Berlin 40

Ryan Gaunt scored 22 points and Hayden Stumpo added 17, including five 3-pointers, to lead Ferndale over visiting Berlin.

Trevor Mattis scored a dozen points for the Yellow Jackets while Gaunt has seven assists and Jordan Taranto grabbed

11 rebounds.

Alex Will’s 13 points and six rebounds topped the visitors.

Altoona 44

Johnstown 40

ALTOONA - Xavier Pierce and Robert Johnson had

10 points apiece as Altoona pulled away from Johnstown in the fourth quarter.

Mark Watson topped the Trojans with nine points.

Cambria County 53 DuBois Christian 48

MUNDYS CORNER – Josh Paros scored 17 points and Josh Flaherty had 13 as Cambria County Christian defeated visit.



HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS

Altoona 80, Johnstown 27

ALTOONA – Lysa Mealing scored 14 points and Kayla Decrisco had 12 as undefeated Altoona (3-0) beat visiting Greater Johnstown.

Missy Ravida led Johnstown with 10 points as the Trojans opened their season.

Cambria County 28 DuBois Christian 18

Natalie Sokira scored

13 points as Cambria County Christian defeated visiting Dubois Christian.
