BELLWOOD —
Police say a 68-year-old Blair County man pepper sprayed his wife because he was angry when she brought home a kitten.
The attorney for Dale Stehley did not immediately return a call for comment Friday, and Stehley didn't respond to a message left on his home answering machine.
Stehley had been drinking before his wife brought home the pet about 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Police in Bellwood say Stehley slapped the woman before pepper spraying her after cursing her out about the kitten.
Police say Stehley's wife had to be treated for chest pains.

Stehley was jailed, but posted bail and remains free pending a preliminary hearing Tuesday on charges of simple assault, reckless endangerment and harassment.
