HOLLIDAYSBURG —
A Blair County judge today dismissed the 12 jurors and two alternates chosen in January for the Nicholas Adam Horner murder trial.
Judge Jolene Kopriva said the gap between jury selection and the upcoming trial is too long for jurors to remain untainted.
Selection of a new jury is scheduled to get under way March 12, with testimony to begin March 19.
The jury-selection process was halted Jan. 13 when the state Supreme Court granted a request for an emergency stay. That stay was denied last week by the full court, allowing the trial to proceed.
At question is Horner’s mental state on April 6, 2009, when he was charged with gunning down two people during a blotched robbery.
