WAYNESBURG —
A toothless woman who told police she robbed a Greene County bank because she needed money for new dentures has been ordered to stand trial and remains jailed, though her attorney is trying to get her moved to a mental health facility.
The Observer-Reporter says 49-year-old Evelyn Fuller is scheduled for a competency hearing, in part, because her public defender says Fuller can’t properly care for herself.
At a preliminary hearing Tuesday, Waynesburg police testified that Fuller confessed to robbing the town’s First National Bank on Jan. 20. A teller who is pregnant testified she was afraid after Fuller passed her a note saying, “Don’t call the cops. Give me $500. I have a gun.”
Police don’t believe Fuller was really armed.
