PITTSBURGH —
Occupy Pittsburgh protesters have vacated a downtown park but are vowing to continue their efforts.
The group held a rally Wednesday evening at the park owned by Bank of New York Mellon Corp. Members then marched briefly to Market Square, then dispersed.
A judge issued an order last week for the group to leave the park. Most people and tents left over the weekend, but a few remained. So the judge granted an emergency order instructing the sheriff to have everyone and all of their belongings removed.
Varying numbers of demonstrators have been at the park for almost four months protesting what they describe as economic inequality and corporate greed. The group says it will continue to operate but hasn’t said how.
