PITTSBURGH KETCHUP KINGS BEING SOLD TO GROUP INCLUDING BILLIONAIRE WARREN BUFFET

H. J. Heinz Co. officials say the deal is worth about $28 billion, including debt that Berkshire Hathaway and 3G Capital will assume. The new owners say the ketchup and food conglomerate will still be based in Pittsburgh.

GOVERNOR, UNCAP YOUR PEN: BILL TO KEEP PENN STATE’S $60M SEX ABUSE SCANDAL FINE IN PA HEADED TO TOM CORBETT’S DESK

Penn State agreed to the NCAA’s fine last summer in a package of sanctions stemming from the Jerry Sandusky child molestation scandal. The bill aims to ensure the money is spent in the state on programs addressing the sexual abuse of children.

CORBETT COULD SOON BE ASKED TO SIGN ANOTHER BILL, TOO – THIS ONE TO ABOLISH ‘DYSFUNCTIONAL’ PHILADELPHIA TRAFFIC COURT

Two bills quickly passed by the Senate have now been sent to the state House. The bills come judges were charged in a ticket-fixing scandal in the state’s largest city.

Megan Thode is suing the school and a professor, claiming she got a ‘C’ that cost her a degree as a licensed therapist because she’s outspokenly in favor of gay marriage. But her professor tells the judge Thode was emotionally unstable and had outbursts in class that led to her lower-than-desired grade.

OK, ONE MORE INVOLVING GOV. CORBETT, WHO IS FIGHTING EFFORTS BY THE ASSOCIATED PRESS TO ACCESS HIS EMAILS, CALENDAR ENTRIES UNDER OPEN RECORDS LAW

The Commonwealth Court is being asked to decide whether the governor must turn over the information to the state Open Records office so officials there can decide whether the news organization is entitled to the records.
