City police seek holdup suspect

— City police are looking for a man who they say held up a Bedford Street convenience store at gunpoint Sunday night.

A tall white male, possibly in his 50s, walked into CoGo’s Express just before 9 p.m. and brandished the gun, demanding money, investigators said.

The man was wearing a hat but no mask, police said. They were reviewing surveillance video around 10:30 p.m. and pursuing leads, an officer said.

Their suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, police added.

Eugene McGilvery said he was on his way to pick up his daughter from work at the gas station when the hold-up occurred.

She wasn’t hurt, he said.

“She’s shaken up pretty bad, but she’s fine,” McGilvery said.
