JOHNSTOWN —
City police early today apparently shot one person dead during a vehicle stop after a shooting incident at Edder’s Den, 534 Sheridan St., authorities said.
“We’re piecing together whether the shootings are related,” said Jeff Lees, Cambria County chief deputy coroner.
In all, three people were shot including the unnamed fatality.
Cambria County 911 said a call came in about 12:30 a.m. for the bar shooting.
Later, Lees said, police had one white vehicle stopped blocks away on Sheridan when another white car came up on the scene.
“Police were shooting into the car,” Lees said. He said he believed that a person in that car died in the operating room at Memorial Medical Center.
At least one suspect, perhaps two, are in custody, Lees said.
State police are investigating. Lees said a press conference will be held at 2 p.m. at the state police barracks in Ebensburg.
