A St. Michael resident, known locally as the “Unicorn Man” because of his distinctive hairstyle, died Wednesday from complications of a massive stroke he suffered while a passenger on a CamTran bus in the Johnstown area.
Ronald F. Oshersky, who was in his early 70s, died at Memorial Medical Center, said Cambria County Coroner Dennis Kwiatkowski. Oshersky had suffered the stroke on Monday while riding the bus on the northbound exit ramp to The Galleria in Richland Township.
“He was a very nice man,” Kwiatkowski said.
The coroner said that he often would see Oshersky at Democratic rallies and festivals in the St. Michael area.
The Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home in South Fork is handling funeral arrangements for the family.
Many people from St. Michael and the surrounding area knew Oshersky, said Charles O. Dimond, owner of the funeral home.
“He was very smart,” Dimond said about Oshersky, a 1955 graduate of the former Adams Township High School.
Oshersky is survived by two sisters – one in Beaverdale and one in Michigan – and a brother in Seattle, Dimond said.
