BEDFORD

A routine traffic stop on the Pennsylvania Turnpike Saturday led to the arrest of two Philadelphia area men and the confiscation of 177 pounds of marijuana.

The discovery of the marijuana hidden in the trunk of a 2009 Chrysler was made by the state police K9 Unit.

Arrested and charged with intent to deliver marijuana and related charges were Michael Dain McDonald, 21, of Philadelphia, and Julian Dain McDonald of Kingston, Jamaica, who was residing in Philadelphia at the time of the arrest.

Police said they were stopped at mile marker 146 in Bedford County for a traffic violation.

The two were arraigned by District Judge H. Cyril Bingham, of Bedford, and are in the Bedford County Jail after they were unable to post bond.
