NEW – Construction to start again on Route 219

Prime contractor New Enterprise Stone and Lime Co. Inc., will resume work on the $9.1 million rehabilitation project along five miles of Route 219 in Adams and Croyle Townships and Ehrenfeld and Summerhill boroughs.

Beginning Monday, the contractor will begin with daylight signing and lane closures as weather permits. Long-term permanent lane closures will take place on April 1.

Overall work on this project consists of concrete patching, milling and resurfacing of existing roadway, drainage and guiderail upgrades, along with the rehabilitation of six dual structures between South Fork and New Germany.

All work on this project is anticipated to be completed by Nov. 2010.
