Clarification

— In Tuesday’s edition of The Tribune-Democrat, a statement from the U.S. Postal Service regarding a plan to restructure mail service was misinterpreted.

“The Postal Service is losing approximately $25 million daily due to the lack of meaningful legislation to change our ability to set delivery frequency and receive relief from our (retiree health benefits) payment schedule,” said USPS spokesman Tad Kelley.

“Mail is still viable to Americans,” Kelley said. “We could be a very strong company long into the future ... but we do need relief from this untenable business model Congress has put us under.”
