The Learning Lamp is offering an expanded network of before and after school programs for the 2012-13 school year.
New for the coming year is an on-site program for children attending Windber Area Elementary School. The program will serve children in kindergarten through fifth grade.
The Windber location joins a list of existing programs serving more than 400 pupils from Richland, Westmont Hilltop, Ferndale, Jackson and Cambria, Cambria Heights, North Star Central, Maple Ridge and Eagle View elementary schools and St. Benedict School.
The Learning Lamp also operates a free drop-in after-school program for low-income children living in Moxham, Prospect and Oakhurst neighborhoods. Beginning this fall, Oakhurst joins Moxham and Prospect by running four afternoons per week from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
An additional location at Westmont Hilltop Middle School offers free homework help for pupils in grades five through eight.
For more information or to register for a program, call 262-0732 or visit the website at www.thelearninglamp.org.
