JOHNSTOWN —
Greater Johnstown/Cambri County Convention & Visitors Bureau has announced parking, transportation and street closings for Thunder in the Valley.
Parking:
Free Motorcycle Parking-
From Thursday through Sunday, motorcycles park free in the downtown Johnstown streets marked with “Motorcycles only” meter bags. Vehicles parked in “Motorcycles Only” parking or parked illegally will be towed at owner’s expense.
Thursday through Sunday, (except for those businesses that pay monthly):
Right side of Market Street - from Washington Street to Vine Street.
Right side of Main Street - from Johns Street to Franklin Street.
Both sides of Union Street - from Rte 56 to Main Street (except the section that is in the “Biker Mall”).
The side of Franklin Street across from Central Park - from Main Street to Locust Street.
Left side of Walnut Street - between Main Street and Washington Street.
Left side of Washington Street - from Union Street to Walnut Street.
Friday through Sunday, (except for those businesses that pay monthly):
Both sides of Market Street - from Washington Street to Napoleon Street.
Both sides of Main Street - from Johns Street to Clinton Street.
Both sides of Walnut Street - from Vine Street to Washington Street.
Both sides of Franklin Street - from Vine Street to Washington Street.
Automobile Parking for the Public -
From Thursday through Sunday, city garages will be open for public parking on Lincoln, Vine, and Main streets. The fee is $5 per day with unlimited in/out privileges. Other surface parking will be available Thursday/Friday evenings and Saturday/Sunday on peripheral of downtown Johnstown within walking distance of event.
Handicapped Accessible Parking-
From Thursday through Sunday, spaces will be available at Ed’s Parking Lot located at 514 Vine St. next to Schrader Flower Shop for handicap accessible parking.
Transportation
Regular CamTram service will be available throughout the event. Check www.camtranbus.com for schedules.
Safety Notation
Motorcycle demo rides will be leaving from Walnut Street and traveling on Iron Street. Drivers please be aware and use caution while travelling on this route.
Street Closings:
From 8 p.m. Tuesday through noon Sunday:
Union Street - from Main Street to Washington Street.
Locust St. (except to local traffic) - from Walnut Street to Union Street.
From 8 a.m. Wednesday through Sunday:
Locust Street - from Franklin Street to Market Sreett.
Gazebo Park - from Locust Street to Main Street.
Johns Street - from Washington Street to Walnut Street.
From Thursday through Sunday:
The very end section of Locust Street (that passes behind Suppes)
Traffic restricted to MOTORCYCLES ONLY on Walnut Street from the stop sign near the Amtrak Station through to the underpass on Iron Street.
The block of Main Street from Market Street to Franklin Street by 5 p.m. and again on Friday through midnight Saturday (except during the parade)
From Friday through Sunday:
The section of the alley adjacent to Cambria County Library parking lot
Morrell Place behind the library starting at 5 p.m.
