Rose parade rehearsal

— The 124th Tournament of Roses Parade will air at 11:30 a.m. today on NBC. This year’s theme is “Oh the Places You’ll Go.” The two-hour special, airing from Pasadena, Calif., was written by Carol Kahl, a former Johnstown resident (right), who also serves as supervising producer; and Stephanie Prescott, who also serves as coordinating producer. The pair have been involved with the parade for more than 25 years. The program will be hosted by Al Roker and Alison Sweeney and will feature 24 bands, 21 equestrian units and 41 floats. This year, for the first time, a live wedding will take place on the Farmers Insurance float.
