A Johnstown man fled his burning home Saturday in the Prospect section of the city, authorities said.
The three-alarm blaze on McCabe Street also destroyed the house next door, which was unoccupied and boarded up.
The homeowner told fire officials he has a wood burner, but it’s unclear whether that’s what started the 7:30 a.m. fire, city fire Capt. Jeff Murphy said.
The man is being assisted by the Keystone Chapter of the American Red Cross disaster services, he said.
