In brief: Johnstown crash injures one person

JOHNSTOWN — A crash on Franklin Street and Valley Pike in Johnstown sent one person to the hospital and forced responders to detour traffic Sunday afternoon.

Cambria 911 officials said a vehicle overturned and one person sustained unknown injuries.

Two hospitalized in Route 160 crash

PLEASANT UNION – A Southampton Township crash hospitalized two people Friday, police said.

State police in Somerset said Margie L. Sutton, 40, of Garrett, sustained minor injuries after she lost control of her car on Route 160 on a patch of ice, eventually hitting a guide rail and overturning the car. A passenger, Marilyn Thompson, 40, of Mount Savage, Md., was also injured, police added.

Firefighters douse Menoher blaze

City firefighters quickly doused a Menoher Boulevard apartment fire Sunday night and have called on a state police fire marshal to investigate. The fire was reported shortly after

9:30 p.m. at a 21/2-story duplex.

The home, on Menoher’s 600 block in Kernville, was unoccupied at the time and had no electricity to the unit, Assistant Chief Tom Horner added, saying the cause is currently “undetermined.”

Damage was contained to a bedroom and its contents, he said. No injuries were reported.
