POLICE REPORT | Brothers waive hearings in tax evasion case

STATE COLLEGE — Two brothers who run pizza shops in Johnstown, Somerset and elsewhere waived their preliminary hearings Wednesday on all charges involved in a $130,000 tax evasion case.

Beau J. Hill of Salix and Daniel Hill of State College face 46 counts filed by the state Attorney General’s Office.

They include failure to make required disposition of funds, operating a business without a sales tax license and failure to pay state income tax.

Beau Hill owns Domino’s Pizza restaurants on Ohio Street and Scalp Avenue and on Plank Road in Somerset.

Daniel Hill is the vice president and accountant.

Their cases now move on to Centre County Court.

CONFLUENCE – Troopers are asking the public’s help to find whoever ran a pickup through the grass at Turkeyfoot Valley High School.

Police said a newer model, full-sized truck drove from School House Road onto the grass field by the building and “turfed” the grass, leaving tire marks.

Newly installed cameras captured the incident and the images will be enhanced by computer technicians for more details.

Anyone with information in the incident at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 28 is asked to call police: 445-4104.

A Chambersburg man was sentenced to about 10 years in prison and ordered to pay $5,061 restitution to a New Paris business for burglarizing the firearms licensee.

U.S. District Judge Kim Gibson of Johnstown also sentenced David G. Oldham Jr., 30, on Tuesday to three years of supervised release following his discharge from prison.

According to U.S. Attorney David Hickton of Pittsburgh, Oldham stole a number of guns from Long’s Outpost on Oct. 7, 2009. At the time, Oldham was a felon, convicted of drug charges in Bedford County.

GREENSBURG – A Jeannette area woman was charged with disorderly conduct Monday after police said she blocked an elderly man’s car, preventing him from driving.

Troopers said Candice Kunkle,

47, accused the man of DUI and wouldn’t let him leave a Citizens Bank parking lot until she called police.

Kunkle reportedly had seen the man – who police said has had health issues – driving in the wrong lane.

She blocked him in when he stopped to gain his composure.

A Johnstown man was sentenced to 10 years in prison and three years of supervised release for delivering crack cocaine.

U.S. District Judge Kim Gibson of Johnstown imposed the sentence Tuesday on Kendale R. Hollins, 26, of the 200 block of Strayer Street.

Authorities said Hollins possessed crack three times in the summer of 2010 in amounts of 27 grams, 27 grams and 26 grams.

FALLENTIMBER – State police are looking for whoever threw blocks of wood through three double-pane windows at a home in the 1000 block of  Glendale Valley Boulevard in Reade Township.

Troopers said Tuesday that the damage occurred at an unoccupied home being remodeled by owner Wilmer McClellan. The criminal mischief occurred Sunday.
