SOMERSET —
With demand popping for vehicles involved with Marcellus Shale drilling, J&J Truck Bodies & Trailers announced Tuesday it would expand its manufacturing work force by up to 80 people in 2012.
The company said it will be looking for skilled welders, mechanics, fabricators, industrial painters and general laborers.
Increased production is expected in the spring.
“Ideally, the people we’re looking for will be skilled, with a vocational/technical background,” said Emily Korns, vice president of marketing.
The company will offer on-the-job training for some positions, she said, but those applicants must have a desire to work hard and possess good math and analytical skills.
And the jobs are lucrative enough to sustain a family.
“I would absolutely say that,” Korns said.
In addition to a solid wage, she said, the jobs offer excellent health benefits and profit sharing.
